While serving as your District Attorney I have:
- Opened offices in each county in the circuit for easier access to the DA's office.
- Improved Grand Jury documentation for better record keeping.
- Established an open-file policy for defendant's discovery of the State's case.
- Evaluated cases prior to filing.
- Gave defendants plea offers at or prior to arraignment.
- Prepared law enforcement before hearings and trial.
- Have attracted quality staff despite low pay.
- Provided high quality training to ADA's, Investigators, and victims advocates.
- Provided latest technology to staff for more effective presentations in court and efficiency
in the office.
- Received additional grant money to fund another victims' advocate and developed an
excellent victim assistance program to keep crime victims informed of the progress of the case and to offer to victims
support and services to ease their grief and loss.
- Received a Community Prosecution Grant from the Federal Government to develop crime
prevention programs for juveniles.
- Established intern program with local colleges and law schools to train students about
the criminal justice system while they provide valuable assistance to the office.
- Served as President of District Attorneys Association of Georgia '03-'04.
- Currently serving as a member of the Prosecuting Attorneys Council of Georgia, which
is the entity responsible for training prosecutors and providing other tools and services to assist prosecutors.
- Currently serving as Chairman of the Capital Litigation Committee for the Prosecuting
Attorneys' Council.
- Worked with the Georgia General Assembly to pass legislation to make the criminal justice
system fair to defendants and victims.
